Family: I am the middle child of three to my amazing parents Jim and Vicky. I have one older sister Allie, and one younger brother Elijah.
Favorite Foods: There are so many foods that I enjoy, but if I had to pick a favorite, Chinese food tops the list for sure! I also enjoy pretty much any kind of meat, especially venison!
Previous Employment: My very first job was at Hungry Howies right here in Wayland. I worked there on and off for about 3 years or so, making, preparing, and delivering pizzas. I also became a manager after about a year of working there. After my time at Hungry Howies, I started working at Jones Manufacturing in Moline. I worked there for almost 2 years. In my time there, made, packaged, and delivered product. I also had the awesome opportunity to work side by side with my father! During my time at Jones, I was also leading a Children's Ministry at Green Lake Calvary Church. Now I am currently the Youth Pastor at Voice of Hope!!
A book that has inspired you and why: The book that has inspired me tremendously is "The Shack" by William P. Young. The main character of the book ends up losing his little girl to a child napper. God ends up bringing him to the place his daughter was murdered, and he spends time with God in all three forms, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. It allowed me to have more of a tangible idea of God. Though it is fiction, the book is extremely gripping and will keep you on the edge of your seat!
Verse in the Bible that has been significant: The verse that has impacted my life the most has been 2 Corinthians 12:9: "But he said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me."
A truth about God that amazes you: The thing that amazes me the most about God, is the fact that no matter how much knowledge I may have, I will never be able to fully figure God out! That truth allows me to really marvel over how amazing God is!
The reason you love Voice of Hope: One of the biggest things that I love about VoH is how loving and accepting the people are! They truly accept you in and find ways to constantly love on you! Another thing I love about VoH is how real and open everyone is. Each person is real about who they are, and they don't try to be someone they aren't! God is on the move!
When did God open your eyes to Him: God is constantly opening my eyes to new things in my relationship with Him! The first time God really opened my eyes to Him though was when I was in the 7th grade. I had been hanging out with influences that were not fruitful in most standards, but God brought two guys into my life who had an everlasting impact on me. I now call these men my best friends, but it was through their influence and the influence of their families that really opened my eyes to who God was and left me desiring to hunger for more of God!
